H. Samuel Manchester Fusee Pocket Watch – Hunter Case

$170.00

Late 19th Century – For Restoration

A solid example of a Victorian-era English fusee pocket watch, signed by the well-known retailer H. Samuel, Manchester. Housed in a classic hunter case, this piece is not currently running, but appears complete and original, making it a worthy project for restoration.

  • Movement: Key-wound fusee movement with English lever escapement. Chain-driven mechanism typical of the period. Movement signed "H. Samuel, Manchester."

  • Dial: Enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. May show minor hairlines or discoloration from age—see images for condition.

  • Case: Traditional hunter case (with front cover), likely sterling silver (hallmarks may confirm). Hinges functioning, showing expected wear but no major structural damage.

  • Condition: Not running. Movement appears intact with fusee chain present. Sold as-is for restoration or display.

  • Provenance: H. Samuel, originally a respected Manchester-based jeweler, became one of Britain’s best-known high street names. Early signed fusee pieces like this are increasingly collectible.
