Norexa Geneve | Swiss Mechanical | FHF 73-4N | 21 Jewels | Incabloc | Date | Circa 1950s–1960s

$185.00

This gorgeous vintage Norexa Geneve is a wonderful example of the stylish Swiss mechanical watches produced during the 1950s and 1960s. Its silver sunburst dial, raised gold-tone hour markers, Arabic 12, dauphine hands, and date display give it a classic mid-century dress-watch appearance.

The dial is beautifully balanced, with the sunburst finish catching the light while the applied gold-tone markers provide depth and contrast. The combination of the gold furniture and clean silver dial is quintessentially 1950s–60s Swiss.

Inside is a Swiss FHF 73-4N, 21-jewel manual-winding movement produced by Fabrique d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF), one of Switzerland's major movement manufacturers. The movement runs at 18,000 vibrations per hour and provides approximately 42 hours of power reserve.

The 21-jewel configuration provides additional jewelled bearings compared with the more common 17-jewel movements of the period, reducing friction and wear throughout the mechanism.

The movement also features Incabloc shock protection, visible around the balance wheel. This system was designed to protect the delicate balance pivots from damage caused by shocks and impacts—a major advancement in making mechanical watches more durable for everyday wear.

The date complication adds useful functionality while maintaining the clean character of the watch. The FHF 73-4N is an excellent example of the practical, dependable Swiss movements that powered countless watches from smaller brands during this era.

Norexa was one of the many Swiss brands that operated below the level of the major household names, sourcing quality Swiss movements and cases to create attractive, reliable watches for the international market.

What makes this Norexa particularly appealing is the combination of its beautiful sunburst dial, applied gold-tone furniture, date display, 21-jewel FHF movement, and Incabloc protection.

A gorgeous mid-century Swiss dress watch with a quality movement and plenty of vintage character.
